About Me

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Game Design, GPA 3.5

DigiPen Institute of Technology (April 2025)

I’m an incredibly passionate game programmer and designer with a specialty in gameplay programming and technical design! My focus for most projects has been designing and implementing behaviors and mechanics for players, enemies, and hazards/environmental objects, but I’ve familiarized myself with many other parts of game development. This includes (but is not limited to) engine programming, graphics programming, level design, systems programming, custom particle systems, telemetry integration, quality assurance, and advanced AI behaviors and pathfinding.

My journey through game development led me through many different video game engines, including Game Maker Studio, Unity, and, most recently, Godot. I’ve also utilized all sorts of programming languages across different projects, including C, C++, C#, Java, GDScript and Lua scripting. Version control has proven to be a necessity for working on any major (or minor!) programming project, so I’ve learned how to manage and ensure the safety of my projects with GitHub and TortoiseSVN.

Throughout my career as a game developer, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many awesome teams in both leading and supporting positions. Working in teams of various sizes has solidified my beliefs in encouraging clear communication, making game plans, adapting to unforeseen circumstances, and fostering a welcome work environment. Whether or not I’m the leader of a project, I do my best to approach my teammates with kindness, patience, and understanding to ensure success — not only for the final product we’re working on, but for each member’s personal goals as well.

I frequently find myself conceptualizing new ideas for games, mechanics, systems, and encounters in my head, so I’ve gotten into the habit of writing them down so I can expand on them and share them with others later! When engaging with a game, I enjoy analzying how different mechanics, behaviors, and systems function to learn what they do well and see how they could apply to current or future works of mine. I’m always eager to learn new concepts and techniques, and I frequently share progress on my endevours with others.

While programming and design are my main areas of expertise, my quest to make awesome games is supplemented by my experience and interest in other forms of creative works. I’m a self-taught illustrator, concept artist, and pixel artist; I’ve been drawing ever since I was little and I’ve used that experience in order to produce assets for a good portion of my projects. Some of the programs I use to create visuals include Paint Tool SAI, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, and Aseprite.

I’ve also been playing piano ever since I was three years old, and use my growing knowledge of music theory, composition, and digital music production in FL Studio and Famitracker to create musical tracks and sound effects for a lot of my games as well. This interest and experience in the arts has allowed me to have a unique multidisciplinary understanding and better connect with the artists and musicians I work with.

I’m a lifelong video game enthusiast! Part of what motivates me as a game developer has been the connection I create with people discussing and playing video games. Some of my favorite games include UNDERTALE and Deltarune, Pokemon HeartGold, Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mega Man 10, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, Minecraft, Geometry Dash, Friday Night Funkin’, and Terraria, but there’s so many more that I could include on this list, too!

While video games are my primary hobby, alongside my aforementioned sidequests in illustration and music production include other hobbies like cooking, baking, watching anime and cartoons, playing board games, and cosplaying. I enjoy listening to music while I work, and my playlist mainly includes video game soundtrack, EDM, dubstep, jazz, nerdcore, and big band arrangements. Some of my favorite things to do outside include tennis, pickleball, and tetherball. One of the best parts about all of these hobbies is the opportunity to share them with others!
